Private Angel Records announced plans to release a career spanning anthology to commemorate Bob Cheevers’ 50th year as a songwriter in early 2016. Cheevers, who continues to be a prolific songwriter, has written well over 3,000 songs in his 50 year career and released On Earth As It Is In Austin, his 10th full length album, in late 2015.
Sources at Private Angel, a subsidiary of DBM Entertainment, LLC, say the anthology will primarily focus on selections from Cheevers’ 10 album releases, but that they will also be digging deep into Cheevers’ vast catalog to find nuggets from his early years in LA and Nashville as well. Additionally, Cheevers is expected to write and record a couple of new songs to be included on the anthology, one of which may be a brand new song Cheevers wrote just last week titled “50 Years,” a brilliant composition which surveys the life of a songwriter fifty years into a career.
The anthology will likely be a combination of a physical CD release, which will come bundled with a bonus code for an online package of downloadable songs and may be released in concert Private Angel’s sister label, Atticus Records, which expects to produce and release Cheevers’ 11th studio release in 2016. Atticus A&R executive, Rick Busby stated, “We are proud to be working with Bob Cheevers on these two exciting projects and expect to mark his 50th anniversary as a songwriter in a grand style befitting his impressive career milestone.”
All of Bob’s current and back catalog can be purchased through DBM Entertainment’s online store as well as CD Baby.
